Poem -

Airdrie Life

Take your life from every age,

You fit in at a different stage.

You start up on a single beat,

You have your very own Airdrie street.

How long did your town take?

To think about and to make,

It has been well sorted out.

To make this town come about.

I know of the baths and town hall,

But there was also a dancing hall.

I was really too young to know,

What was going on and on the go.

My parents were wiser and knew the beat

They were always looking on the street.

To think of a slogan for the street,

Well I say forever more, Airdrie is discreet.

I love this town, I love the power,

The shops, the pubs and the clock town tower.

So take the time to have a  rest,

To call our town simply the best.

                                                                           Mary Ferguson
