" ALI "

The man walked the righteous path
He gave it all up ~ and why?
Governments can't take religious freedom
From the hearts of you or I
And like the truest of poets
He rhymed his way through the TV
With the grace of the greatest boxer
The world has ever seen
And he did it so beautifully
"Float like a butterfly
And sting like a bee"....

Honestly one of my favorite quotes EVER. I have learned so much about him and boxing from J. It is insane how much I look forward to watching the fights. J used to box too so I know he is a huge fan and I can't wait to share this with him. Excellent poem.
With Love,
Val ♥
Thanx so much VAL!!!........He's one of my hero's who stood up for the rights of everyone on the planet,.........while boxing his heart out to perpetuate his beliefs.........I am happy to hear that J has hooked you up ~ and led you into the rejoicing of one of the most amazing souls ever to walk the planet........hugs to you & J !!!!.............T xo
yeah T, love the poem love the man Ali...and he was indeed a 'true poet' he and the 'the Godfather of Soul' James Brown are very underrate poets, in my opinion....anyway yes your 'Ali' is very well done and honouring to the man himself; we slightly older folks can never forget the man....I remember the day after the first Frazier fight; biggest prize fight of the twentieth century, the newspaper headlines in Trinidad had several pictures of Ali riding a motor bike, and I swear it was a national day of mourning after he lost...he was to me back then the most entertaining man on earth, charm charisma and intelligence laced with humour, and a certain kind of humility, as well... nobody could touch him, and if you haven't seen the documentary about him and Foreman in Africa, it's amazing....Ali is also credited for writing the shortest and most profound poem, ever.....'Me We' two words inspired by his experience with the people of Africa during his stay there....great idea to write this, my friend (not virtual, real D) flawless writing...cheers T
Hey Mamma Jamma!! ~ I so look forward to your comments......... and yes! "we slightly older folks.." do have the great good fortune to have been around during his time..........I have seen every documentary on him and his life....... all of the films....... the one Will Smith did was awesome........ man it freaked me out at how well he did playing Ali!!......... stunning.......... the fact for me was that he took on "The powers that be" and nearly went to jail for his beliefs.........." I'm not going to another country to kill poor people just because the White man tells me too...". .......wow!!........the other thing was the cool friendship he had with Howard Cosell and Joe Frazier............ did you know that Frazier was the only guy to offer him money when he went nearly broke?........ incredible life.......... he's definitely one my favorite people of all time.........Thanx for this Chris!!.......... love you man!!.......... peace..........T xo
