Poem -

Alice

Oh, look.
A rabbit hole.

Good Christ. "Let's go down it."
I said to myself.
Or was I alseep?
Was it all a dream?

No.
Because there it is.
And Alice ushers me down.
She says "It's nice down here."
And I believe her.
Even though I know that
She is a liar.

I slipped down the rabbit hole.
The reason for my reasoning
Can be simply stated
In two -- maybe three -- words.
But where is Alice, darling?
Did she make her escape?

Chrissake, here I am again.
I am stuck in this rabbit hole
That every seems to call 'Wonderland'.
The only thing I wonder is if I will need a coat.
Does it get cold here?
Is it Winter?

"Why, hello there."
A strange man looks at me.
"Who might you be?"

"Is this Wonderland?"
I said with a guttural sound.

"Isn't it WONDERful?"
Says the mad man
With a hat-hat-hatter.

"Where is Alice, darling?"
And I look on in silence.

"She made her escape."
