All About The Music

You can ask me a favorite music
It would be hard to widdle it down
To just one genre, so let's call it rock.
Ask me a favorite musician or band
I'll tell you it's impossible to pick one,
For few reasons that there are so many
With different styles and sound;
My variety ears get bored listening to
A certain few over and over.
How do we know what we like without
Expanding the search for new and difference.
When I hear it though, it grips my soul
For weeks I play it out that beat is hard to let go.
The epic journey songs by Of Monsters And Men,
The heavy grunge of tool has me bangin my head.
The heartfelt touch of The Head And The Heart,
Im flowing with love for music and not quite done
Tapping my feet to the folk of The Lumineers
And Mumford And Sons.
Captivated by Ages And Ages lyrical brilliancy
Mimicking Fleet Foxes I try to sing their harmonies.
This love I have for these new bands
Couldn't be without the influence of the classics,
I won't allow myself to be lost if you understand
We all know the the old rock was nothing short of basics.
Its all about the music to simply say and not elaborate
The love and passion that grows each day,
For any number of people to come together
And create beautiful music, I admire im inspired,
Their songs linger in my head
Long after leaving the radio
Always forcing lyrics to squeeze
Through lips and be sung.
In bad times it gets me through
Makes me pumped, goes well with the drive.
