All Grown Up

All Grown Up

Shadows are all that exist,
An imprint of yesterday,
Etched in the memory,
Once as a child.

No longer that little boy,
More like a man now,
Seeing youth fade,
Adulthood brow.

Once was the innocence,
A childlike figure stood,
The years gone by,
Burned like wood.

How do I see you today,
The man you've become,
With your own ideas,
And opinions run.

I'll miss the boy I birthed,
So innocent in womb,
To be replaced by time,
And thoughts consumed.
