For All The Wrong Reasons

For All The Wrong Reasons

I think we  got married for all the wrong reasons.

It was so very long ago

I was fascinated with your smile

I waited outside your flat in the rain

Wet to the skin until you agreed to see me.

You liked the muscled body I had under my shirt.

I loved the way your hair fell on my bare chest.

Worshipping every nuance of your sweet body.

You smiled because I could never get enough of you.

Never a thought to financial matters

How would we manage should we save up?

Would we make good parents?

Do we enjoy doing the same things?

Are we intellectually compatible?

We were so naĂŻve then so very silly.

Yes for sure

we married for all the wrong reasons back then.

And oh! how happy we have always been.
