Alone

I'm so alone
And feeling blue
Winter in the Lighthouse
Without youΒ
I wake to the sound of the crashing sea
Drowning my thoughts
About how my life should be
Erasing my illusions
I wake to theΒ pounding of endless waves
TheΒ never ceasing musicΒ
That will pull me to the grave
I stand amongst the granite rocks
The sentinels
The timekeepers
The watching Clocks
I walk along the storm wracked sands
To hear the whistled winds
Of Natures bandsΒ
I climb the rocky island paths
Where gulls wheel and diveΒ
And seafolk take their baths
And all men come to feel alive
I live on this outcrop of sand and sea
Alone with the birds for company
The seals and the dolphins
The bladderwrack and salt skin
Another winter alone as can be
Feathers and Heather
Rocks calling
And the endlessΒ plaintive callΒ
of the sea.
