ALTERNATING ARABESQUES

As I was the apparitions dance
With alternating arabesques
Shadows raced across my ceiling
-------------------------------------
And as I observed these ghosts adorn
The sounds of cellos and French horns
I dreamt of the day my son was born
-------------------------------------
As my heart was pulled from my chest
Only heaving from slow moving breasts
Went dancing through the soft quintessence
--------------------------------------
Like ballerinas holding an ever-spin
My face held onto its inherited grin
I knew my soul, felt its essence
----------------------------------------
As I was an apparitions dance
I am now an alternating arabesque
Happy each morning in all my life's dealings...

My Dear Brother Poet Tony,
I too am ensconced in the "Arabesque"
For I "Plie" to my Son's side
But he "Jetes" to the other side of the stage
As the toes of my heart can stand no more
And my saddened Soul prepares for it's final bow
Peace, Love and Nijinsky,

Peace, Love, and Baryshnikov!!..... ♥
Funny you should mention Baryshnikov. In, I believe 1980, he came to Cincinnati with six other performers that he had hand selected, seeing great potential in their future. My ex-wife and I had box seat season tickets for the Cincinnati Ballet, and she was on the Board. For the season ticket holders, there was a late dinner after the performance, called Dinner With Baryshnikov, held at a very fine restaurant, where he actually stood in a line with his troupe, and everyone got to meet them.
He did two dances, the first one a comedy, called, if I remember correctly, "La Coquette". It was very funny, but the dance he did to end the performance, I shall never forget. It was originally performed by Najinsky, and at its beginning he came flying out from behind the curtain, about six feet in the air. Then he continued doing unbelievable leaps, as we all sat there in amazement.
