ALUMINUM COFFIN

Is life a color stripped movie

flashing in-between the old frames

of what we once were?

I would be a blister

when the frames stopped abruptly

exposing my pain on the screen.

Tears of yesteryears.

Fears of being alone in this World.

Reaching for no one.

Into the bath of solvents

love bathed away these insurrections

and made me whole again.

Darning away the miseries she needled

knowing I was fragile

and in much need of repair.

Cold distempered eyes

had followed me through time

and now they are rocks.

Interred in an aluminum coffin

I have surfaced to play.

Not just any camera wheel to turn

for God’s conviction and mercy is upon me.

Love can save the scoundrel …
