Always Carry Oil

The lonely beetle crawled up the tree,
So much water; just trying to be free!
That's when the attack of the ants began!
The ant gang to swarm! was in their plan.
Ants each and together; are very strong!
They were many, so what could have gone wrong?
The scientist thought; there was so much intrigue!
How did the beetle survive this super siege?!
He took the super little bug to his lab,
Used the microscope," this bug kind of drab."
Then he saw little hairs upon his feet,
When attacked, the bug would just have a seat.
You see with him, he always carried his oil!
His suction cup feet, the attack; they would spoil!

thank you Liliana!
thank you JP!
Thank You Hj!
Jim I really like this because it shows in all our glory the horrendous nature of mankind. Though only a write it is exactly what happens. The beetle survives the ants only to be killed by man in order to satisfy curiosity. That's why I don't like us but like your write...lol x
I have hope that the scientist didn
t kill the beetle. but let him go, thank you Marion for reading!
thank you Ashley!
The image that heads this particular page almost made me fall over .. in fact if I hadn't been laying down when I opened it, I most probably would have .. it made me feel like someone had spiked my cocoa with an acid tab or two .. and what's more, the body of your intriguing poem sir Jim
is filled with things that make me shudder .. don't get me wrong I would never harm an ant but I have had a thing about them ever since an aunt of mine sat me down on top an ants nest when I was a nipper .. I dont like oil either, particularly on my fingers, or elsewhere wink wink .. not sure where that particular dislike stems from and it aint worth seeking therapy for but felt the need to point it out and beg ya never to write anything like this ever again sir .. Beetles and scientists are a different kettle of fish altogether .. Please feel free to write about em whenever it takes ya fancy .. becuz if I find em, I'm sure to read em ... Just sayin on behalf of both me n a friend .. Cheers N :)
