ALWAYS SAYING NO

All her replies to questions were no
Made things difficult as this poem will show
I started by asking her to tidy her room
Just a little spruce up with a vacuum

The answer I'm sure you have guessed
Made me anxious and feeling stressed
No was her reply and played with her game
Her room remains untidy a terrible shame

Then I asked if she wanted chips for tea
Confident she would say yes and agree
No again was the reply that she gave
If only she said yes and would behave

I was like her at that age I must confess
The trouble was with me I always said yes
Different generations and different times
Ending one of the most difficult rhymes
