An eye for an eye

An eye for an eye

The Lord moves in mysterious ways
So woe betide the splenetic tongue it should be extra careful what it says
Accidentally on purpose
Malignant and meant
Trouble makers
Rabble-rousers
Yellow-bellies
Yielding recreant

Hatred breeds hatred
This is a well-known fact
Try to turn the other cheek
Think twice before you act
One may be brave as a bully
Bulldozering the soft touch
Just remember God is listening
and will pay you back with interest as such
His avengement may not be immediate
but just when one thinks all is forgot
An eye for an eye
A tooth for a tooth
Will tie you tightly in a knot

Will it simply be bad luck
If one’s world turns upside down
when they try to swim the sea of salvation but alas they drown
Too late for lamentation
One should have thought long and hard
when they didn’t give a dam and gave charity no regard
Measure for measure and tit for tat
You acted awful and were as concealed as a barber’s cat
