AN ODE TO MY BELOVED PET

AN ODE TO MY BELOVED PET

A black baby at the back of my legs
The stylish noisy way it begs,
I’m here to feed you dear
Where are you? Couldn’t find you here.
“Where is my cute baby, Mother?”
“There he is motionless”, said father.
The mouth which I daily feed
Closed for ever that it never needs,
Like the door of an abandoned house.
What happened to you I couldn’t guess
But you are down dead motionless,
Like a dead motionless bee.
The phase may take months to melt away
For you left your marks at home,
My mynah dear.
