Ancient serpent

Ancient serpent so cunning 

and cruel, you try to make us fall.

Devising strategies to lead us

astray, plotting our ruin and

downfall.

Trying to trap us in your web of

deceit, manipulating and tricking

us with your falsehood.

When will your craftiness end?

You are the father of lies, tempted

Adam and Eve in the garden of

Eden.

This led to the downfall in mankind.

But the second Adam, Jesus, has

saved mankind and given us the

power to trample on snakes and

scorpions.

We have the power to cast you out,

through prayer and resistance we can

flee from you.
