And Then You Were Gone 2-16-15

That Monday morning you walked with me, just shortly after dawn;

But as the day progressed, you grew very weak, by nighttime you were gone!

When I found you lying on the floor, your lifeless body prone;

I screamed louder than I ever had, then I began to softly moan!

A part of me went out that night, the light within my soul;

For where it once shone brilliantly, now  exists a darkened hole!

It cries in tears of loneliness, nothing ever does it sate;

It’s needs could never be fulfilled, without its precious mate!

Each day I wake with emptiness, that only you could fill;

I think about the joys we shared, then the tears begin to spill!

I will love you till the day I die, and afterwards, I pray;

That our souls will again reunite, to forever hold and play
