Angel Bust

Angel Bust

The heavenly chorus dropped down
from the azure sky
singing hosannas and lullabiesĀ

Everywhere we went
the cherubs were around

Century piled upon century

We heard the music
but not the sound

Never focusing on the lyrics

They politely requested
we sinners join their harmony serene
but we did not take
these messengers seriously

So this pissed off ensemble
quickly transposed
to apocalypse mode

While our ship
was sinking
the band played on

A dirge for us all

A requiem for the gone
