ANGELDOM

As a child
I aspired to
Angeldom

Well...

As adult I grew into
Not angel
At all

And t'was shocking
To know
How much devil
Resides
Within the most normal
Innocuous
Hide

These days I aspire
To be
Not at all

Or...

To live through each day
Quite
Invisibly small

These days
That young angel
Has long died inside

But a part of me hopes
That with God
She resides

Wow I think many of us can relate to this feeling. The loss of innocence, through the living between too many shadows in life. A powerful piece. Sad and yet with a glint of hope at the end found in the longing for it to not be completely lost x
