Angie---Inspired By The great Leonard Cohens Poem Suzanne

Angie
Angie meets me nightly
In her shack down by the river
She feeds me magic spells and potions
Spins my head around like crazy
As I look into the pools of her eyes.
The big boats sailing by us
As I spend the night lay with her
Just as I am to tell her
My love for life is empty
and nothing now can fill it
She says
She has always been my lover
Touches her lips softly upon my soul
Then all I want is to be beside her
Drain myself within her
For sheās reached inside my body
To my mind.
The sunlight drips like honey
As her skin glows gold before me
She takes my hand in hers and leads me
Into the weeds and the flowers
I see children lost and lonely
Reaching out for my hand only
They have waited there forever
Love will find them never
She said all men were shipwrecked
As they floated in the oceans
Where they drift into her safeĀ harbor
AndĀ she fed them magic potions
Their souls rise up into heaven
Far away and far above us
Leaving loneliness in the river
Sinking like a stone.
Her lips kiss my lips softly
Her eyes a magic mirror
I swear to leave her never
Her face reflects down in the water
The river is still and silent
As it catches the falling teardrops
from her eyes
