Annabel Lee And Me
I know how you were feeling Edgar Allen, when you lost your “Annabel Lee”;
For I’m suffering just as you did, since my Nico had leave me!
I know she was a woman, and my Nico just a dog;
But this man had love unparalleled, in the annals histories logged!
So, Mr. Poe, I feel your pain, we both lost our dear souls;
When our mates had bid goodbye to us, now through poems, them we extol.
Few on Earth have loved as we both did, our mates more than ourselves;
With hearts that never would be whole, posthumous years in Hell!
I know how you never saw the sun, your existence darkened by your plight;
Mornings, noon’s and sunsets gone, a creature of the night!
For if you ventured out into society, to join the world anew;
You brought the darkness at your side, and people eschewed you!
You wrote the Psalms to Annabel Lee, most times with spirits aid;
You lambasted and you blamed yourself, for the small mistakes you’d made!
And, now I too, am just like you, I’ve lost the one dearest to me;
We’ll mourn together as long as we live,"my Nico, and your Annabel Lee"!
