ANXIOUS WORKERS

He is anxious be left literally up the creek 
That's if his boss doesn't pay him this week
His wife and kiddies all depend on him so
No work coming in he maybe forced to go

Not only he is finding things really rough 
All his workmates have had about enough 
The boss still can afford his fancy car 
Drink the finest wine and smoke a big cigar

The workmates said to him during his lunch
Layoffs are inevitable well that's their hunch
How can the boss afford to pay us a wage ?
Maybe strike action will be the next stage

He finished his lunch and started his task
His anxiety hidden from wearing a mask 
What will happen next I cannot possibly say
He will just have to get through day by day
