Poem -

An Apologetic Mother's Day

When embracing the exhilaration of the unplanned,

There will always be friends to hold your hand.

Together, you dive head first into abyss,

And glide through vast carelessness.

Too soon you meet the ground,

And given the chance, make no sound.

Too late the fiery words are spoken,

Already a trust has been broken.

Two friends who slip together,

Can now only depend on their mother.

Anchored by shame,

Leaving nothing the same,

You look to a mother,

A soul like no other,

To ease your ascent,

By granting repent.

She embarks on an odyssey,

Meeting the beast called Dishonesty.

And though He is deceptive,

His adversary is receptive.

For a daughter cannot hide,

The guilt that's inside,

And a mother should receive that respect deserved,

So that their sacred bond may remain preserved.
