Poem -

APPARENTLY....

To find oneself
within the air
an act of love
that brings one there

Apparently...

land then hard
on wonky feet
to run in tunes
and ticking beats

Of heart...

and so to grow
in loves own hands
to laugh and live
to understand

Nothing...

and then to man
grown proud and strong
ever right
though always wrong

So wrong...

to eat and drink
and love with all
to soar such heights
and then to fall

in bitter pools

where tears go
to freeze like drifts
of coldest snow

and time like seafoam
fades away
small drips that melt
the hours of day

all grey and gone
is freshest youth
now hardest work
for memory's slueth

and so to 'we'
who sit and rock
to ponder all
and count the stock

to find it wanting
wasted, spilled
joy carefully weighed

against the illΒ

then find oneself
to gasp for air
an act of love
that brings one there

Apparently...
