Poem -

arches

The sun shone through the arched window,
Directly to her fair skin,
She moved and shut the curtain,
Because she didn’t want to let the sunshine in,
She curled up in a little corner,
Scared and alone,
She was cloaked by the darkness,
Her arms so cold they started turning to stone,
She started to shiver,
And turned baby blue,
But she refused to let the sunshine in,
Even though strands of light were starting to breakthrough,
Even when she could barely breathe she didn’t want to move,
She started to reach out to the light,
Her soft hands reaching to the curtains,
But it was too late,
The darkness had taken her too.
