Poem -

Are you still afraid of the dark?

Why are we afraid of the dark?

Is it the blindness that we feel which unsettles us?
Or is it something more than that?
Maybe it's the unsettling silence we seem to experience in the dark.
The nerve-wracking thought that maybe, maybe there is something lurking around us
planning dozens of diabolical plans.
Figuring out a dozen different ways to attack us, take us...kill us.
Is anything actually there, or is it just our mind playing tricks?
Is the irrational fear of darkness so widely spread, that we start to believe things we hear from others?
What no one seems to understand however is this.
Where do all the night creatures that plague our minds as we try to sleep come from?

Our subconscious, things we see and hear in the day.
If all things we are afraid of comes from the day,
then why are we afraid of the dark?
