Art deco dreams -~ ode to NYC

Like 3 Pin it 2Fly, fly with me
To 1 Wall Street
Lower Manhattan, New York City!
~~~~~~
Now we Head for 10 East 40th Street,
Designed by Ludlow & Peabody
Wow weeeeee
~~~~~~~~
Moving right along with the Art Deco fest,
15 Central Park West, accommodating the best
Robert De Niro, Sting, Denzel Washington; so it seems, life is truly made of Art Deco dreams!
~~~~~~~~~
RCA Building, Radio Corporation of America, the first building constructed with the elevators grouped in the central core, life ain't no bore, when you're at its core!
~~~~~~~~~~~
Chrysler; supreme, East Side Midtown American Dream,
surpassing the Empire State for just 11 months, nothing forever so it seems; still the tallest brick building in the world; King Kong climbed it and died upon it....
~~~~~~~~~~
Let's walk to The Empire State,
This building amongst the great,
on the high end,
Number five in height universally that is,
~~~~~~~
Yet don't forget the Majestic, Milton Berle and Zero Mostel; this ain't no hostel, gangsters roam as the Majestic was home to the Luciano crime family Lucky Luciano, Frank Costello, and Meyer Lansky....
In 1957, Vincent "The Chin" Gigante shot Frank Costello in the lobby of the Majestic in a failed assassination attempt,
Man, is this town bent!
~~~~~~
Boy! Gangsters!!!
Let's move on to entertainment city, Radio City Music Hall; with radiating arches, Donald Desky geometric design, glass aluminium chrome, too much to fit in a poem....
~~~~~~~~~
Then at last we arrive at
The Waldorf Astoria, 301 Park Avenue, fashioned after a famous palace, with all its beautiful lavish
Dinner parties; pure glamour, satin upholstery and marble pillars
King Ludwig would be impressed; a luxury hotel to no less than Ava as in Gardener and Muhammed Ali, don't forget Liberace!

buildings i found it all interesting reading it flows really well
Great job ..hugs Debs
Thank you for the read;
the big apple has plenty architecture of note
and I enjoy these places; in the "old" days
great care and style.
Kind Rgs Jai:)
Magnificent JAI MASTERS!!.......I know every building......... the Chrysler building ~ when it first opened was mind blowing............ it's art deco, silvery gleam...... it's Lobby a testament.........I used to live in Greenwich Village........ and I was tour manager so I had to be familiar with most of those buildings....... but I learned ALOT from the documentaries concerning themselves with the battles between the early Titans who were decorating and dedicating their lives to the New York City landscape..........Thanx for the memories brother..........I owe you a mug of ale brother........... this was a pleasure to read!!........ Love and Rockets!!.........T xo
USA is a great place; I am fan of
Art Deco; your buildings are geometrical
dynamos, keep building the dream;
God bless America. Thank you Tony!!
This is a magnificent write and a piece of art on it's own. Be proud of this one Jai because of the difference it makes this so awesome and how about the topic but one of the most famous cities in America....New York New York. My wife absolutely loves it there im ok if we visit once in a while for I live in Philadelphia and I work all over the city they are different to me but im not much a city guy. If you appreciate the art deco of New York I think you would be fascinated with Washington DC. I read a book about how the Masons egineered the whole nations capital with their buildings, I Believe it was a Dan Brown book one of the Da Vinci code series books and it was so fascinating how crafty and smart the free masons were. I recommend checking it out. As for this write it deserves so much attention and it is a favorite of mine for sure. Peace Jai.
Thank you Devon;
long live USA Art Deco
watch out for the Chinese military
and the Russians; they have great
civilisations but no democracy
many of their artists have died expressing
their thoughts and feelings; unlike in
America; the guns worry me in America
they need to fix that; cant have people dying
in numbers like that if at all; amend and live,
Art Deco thank
uuuuu Devon, best wishes Jai:)
Hi Jai,
New York, New York. A city like no other on earth. The cradle of cool. The hub of chic. The aorta of America, pulsating. La Crème de la crème. East side, west side, any where you go. You'll never duplicate the experience, for it's always been "The Best In Show". Beautiful write, my poetic Brother.
Peace and Love,
xox Larry
Yup such a magnificent city
and Art Deco cool I enjoy this era;
craftsmen took the time to create
those high ceilings and
red velvet look; windows with color
and people with style that's New York
i say to the terrorists go get stuffed
watch out as Turkey is hit these low life's
are plotting; we must find them before they
find us in our Art Deco dreams of democracy
which is far superior even if imperfect
far superior to their isms.
Long live the U.S.A. Thank God for America
the provider of democracy; thank you Larry,
you are a poet on Cosmo I would love to meet.
Best wishes from Jai:)
Hi Jai,
That's the best response to one of my comments, that I've ever received. More beautiful, flowing rhetoric from "Jai Master". Yes, I'd like to meet you in person someday, too. We're in Florida, so if you are ever coming to Disneyworld. we're not far away.
Peace and Love,
xox Larry
