Artful soul

This place you have shown me;
It's so beautiful. 
I no longer see just black and white.
I don't even try to put up a fight. 
Slowly overwhelmed by the colors of the paint. 
My background was once so eerily faint. 
You left me this stain.
I no longer feel the sting of pain.
For the longest time I thought this world was just a myth. 
I'm surrounded by the colors you left me with. 
You took a deep breath and blew air into my life that gave me purpose. 
This artful purpose has been the greatest gift.
