Poem -

As I Rest

As I rest I see with ease

the beauty in the swaying trees

with them there lies no qualm or grumble

the willow tall and strong yet humble

the oak he stands above the rest

and much of life in him do nest

the tree's of fruit to us a gift

yet of man and nature there lies a rift

we think ourselves apart, divided

from creation and all thereof provided

this man-made division our destruction therein

for to destroy that without, is to corrupt that within

I call to you brothers who would see damage undone

to open your hearts and come together as one

see what is real without projection of mind

to own our mistakes whilst still, there is time

heed my words brothers fast approaches the hour

when just a memory becomes every tree, every flower

for granted we take that which upon we rely

yet at its destruction we sit idly by

what will you do when nature is gone

nought but a myth remembered in pictures and song

how will you feel when gone is the choice

to rise up in defence of that with no voice

this home we call earth provides for our needs

yet our arrogance is causing her destruction at speed

all that is required for the darkness to win

is you for to do nought, not a word, not a thing.
