Poem -

As the train leaves...

As the train leaves...

Steam everywhere
Tears run dark
People everywhere
Stories wrote down
Leathered homes
They carry
Kids goodbye's
They achingly
Cherish
Kisses are savoured
Salt was tasted
The grip of
A love lost hand
Gets lost in
The hate of
Wars great stand
Whistles pierced
The train is
Leaving
A river flows
From their faces
As it drips
On the ground
Of their
Trailing laces
Goodbye dad and husband
Battle on
And send
Me roses
Write to me
My love
Until we
Meet again
You are
My shadow
And my pain
Goodbye dad
And husband...
