As Years Go
As years go, with your bones aching that much more,
You review paths chosen and all you have overcome !
You realize what struggles and experiences were for,
Knowing it took real heart for everything to be done !

Remembering those who helped you in getting this far,
You understand the role they played in your successes !
Life would not have been the same without their care.
It is with fondness and true love your mind reminisces !

You wonder if you have learnt much as the time passes,
With uncertainty and confusion still in decision-making !
Perhaps a little wiser by mistakes giving clear messages,
You appreciate a world is fulfilling as well as mystifying !Â

My Dear Friend Richard,
As time goes by I realize, not much do I have left;
As I celebrate my Golden Years, and have thoughts are so bereft!
I think about departed souls, who when alive showed me their love;
That they still send down to bring me joy, from the Heaven's up above!
