Ascent

Wonders of nature never cease to amaze

From the mountain top I gaze

At the beauty of the landscape below

Wind on my face gives it a healthy glow

It is incredible to stand here and contemplate

How my life has changed due to fate

This world before me, the same for so long

But now I'm with you, I have become strong !

Everything has been transformed for me

So I can now appreciate all that I see

To enjoy wherever I am or whatever I do

Is completely and utterly down to you

I must thank you for giving me this gift

For soothing my soul which sorely needed a lift 

My heart soars like an eagle and I feel sublime

You have freed my spirit, and it's longing to climb.
