Poem -

Asylum walls.

A touch of death, as cold as the current sea
swam within my veins
Below the core of me

Afraid of my breath, a lingering mist, pulsing the blood within my wrist

Time ticked on, my watch I could feel, each pulse a step closer
To all that was real

Old memories flooding
My mind, and the floor
I could not think clearly
Or open the door

With fear at my side, and hunger at my back, I escaped in the silence
now on the right track

Nightmares linger and play like charades, the voice of his father still constant invades

There's no room for tears here, the strength
To survive

With my heart in my hands now, staying alive

Asylum walls as white as a ghost, play with the sanity of many a host.
