Poem -

ATLANTA HOUSE FIRE ACCIDENTAL, NEIGHBORS SAY

we met inside
the burning down house.
a mansion of sorts
with baggage in the closets.

i didn't mind the heat.
nor did you,Ā
it seemed.
not so much.

i gave you a rose
opening by the flames.
you gave me a kiss, and
told me you loved me.

we said we both
wanted to live by water.
while the grandfather clock
melted in the corner

atĀ
the sameĀ
momentĀ
we saidĀ
goodbye,

only,

to keepĀ
meeting
like this
again
andĀ
again
