Autumn Calling

Autumn Calling

~~The summer is dying
In mourning its swell
Clouds above crying
On meadow and dell

Pathways of gold
Beneath shuffled feet
The year growing old
As to winter we creep

The fruit In the meadow
The yellowing corn
Late sun in the daytime
With frost in the morn

Birds in a cluster
Form a black cloud
Fly to the south
In a cackling crowd

Time for the firelight
Time for my chair
Reading in warm light
With all loved ones there
