Poem -
~ AUTUMN'S MOVEMENT ~
The wings of old Autumn are in flux
In their slightest hesitation
A glimpse
Of an old, ornate, orange-ness
And riding upon the wind
In their wake
A brusk-ness
Like the scent of
A clean, old-ocean, rot
And in each new day
Opaquely tan colors, move
Floating down
From Fall's ballet above
Disguised
As earthen doves
Dancing on the thermals
That circle the season
So cool
With a Love reminiscent
Of,
The essential nature
And timing
Of rust and its color
As it most delicately
Decays
Into morning's, icy, dew drops
That glisten
Ever so shyly
On the shimmering
Of Winter's
Inevitable
And most glorious
Emergence...

Autumn, my favourite time of the year, I always have this expectation of how I want it to be, exactly as you have put it, but it ends up with me scooping the mushy leafs from my gutter in the lashings of rain.

YAY!!....thanx Sir McGowan!!..... It's my favorite season too...... there's a moment etched firmly in my memory.... which I spent in utter happiness for an entire day... and the whole thing was accented and highlighted by the smells and colors of Autumn.... with the leaves (especially) painting colors in the air as I walked in a kind of bliss for a magical 6 hours......thanx for the comment brother..... and for making me smile ~ "scooping the mushy leaves from my gutter...."....... stay groovy..... and stay safe on the roof!!...... smiles........T xo ?❤
A work in progress, well that's up to you my friend , but to me it really hits the notes. It richly evokes this emerging time of year - perfectly.

Autumn has an eerie feeling about it.

However, it's too early for those thoughts! lol. I miss summer already. It's cold in the mornings here. And the stores already have stuff for next Arbor Day in them! And that's not til April.
Please write about summer, and maybe it will come back. lol.

Only today I sat in my garden looking at the trees and their gently changing leaves and thought of autumn..Reading your poem filled my mind with the warmth of summer slowly being enfolded by the arms of autumn.I love every season, each bringing something new and reviving to our lives...awaking buds leading to extravagance of colours and fragrances moving through to quieter, russet filled days and then white frosted mornings ..You say it's a work in progress but I think it is completed picture of seasonal wonder..Great work Tony...Love it! xx
