Poem -

Baby

When you were born time stopped
for me as I gazed at you.
Fell in love with your eyes.
Your fingers and your toes.
The funny fuzz at the top of your head.
The way your nose wrinkled into a yawn.
Eyelashes so tiny and delicate..
The entire universe paled in comparison.
The seven wonders held no seat.
I was in total captivation, under your spell.
IT is 30 years later.. and I sit wondering
where did the time go?
When did it speed up?
When did I lose control.
Now you are grown and independent.
Telling me what is on your mind.
Making me forget what was on mine.
I wish I could say that the grown up is as
lovely as the babe...
That being an adult agreed with you..
But,
I can't
It only made you stubborn and bossy.
I am still captivated..
