Baby bird

Uglyness

When I was young I found a baby bird pushed from its nest,
not quite dead not quite alive.
I showed my mom and she said to leave it.
I looked in the mirror this morning and saw naked wings clutching my ugly body,
my face a wide open beak calling for my mama.
