Soldier Of God
Brave and determined to the core
It is with relish he marches to war
He's not overly concerned with politics
Representing goodness in all conflicts.

Fighting for those persecuted or enslaved
It is lives of innocents he wishes to save
To this end , he will show his true worth
Aiming to bring order to a chaotic earth.

Where evil tries to inflict its will or dominate
In confronting its force he does not hesitate
He wishes to see the fulfillment of a dream
Where peaceful communities are forseen.
.......................................................
So, it is to him we should show gratitude
With just intentions and beliefs he's imbued
Putting his life at risk to end all subjugation
Creating a safer world is his consideration.

I will send a copy to my brother and nephew, both having served in the army. I especially like the last verse. Also, it could honor most police officers, who do have the intention of keeping our communities safe. Always like your poems.
