Bedtime (a poem about depression)

Bedtime (a poem about depression)

What I hate most about bedtime,
Is that I am all alone,
Theres no talking, or laughter
No message on my phone.Β

What I hate about bedtime,
Is that I am alone with my mind,
The world is oh so silent,
And my thoughts are not too kind.Β

And what I hate most about bedtime,
Is the voices in my head,Β
The self-judgement and anxiety,
That no one wants in bed.Β

What I hate about bedtime,
Is the inconsolable pain,
All my sad memories,Β
Somehow sound louder in my brain.

But what I do like about bedtime,
And I’ve had to dig quite deep,
The one thing I found that I like about bedtime,
Is when I finally get to sleep.Β
