Behind these eyes

Behind these eyes are so many days

Days of victory

Days of bitter rejection

Days of warm acceptance

Days of debilitating abuse

Days of soothful healing

Days of humiliating failure

Days of unexpected gain

Days of crushing disappointment

Days of pleasant ascent

Days of agonising pain

Days of ethereal ecstasy

Days of gut wrenching grief

Days of inexpressible joy

Days of dark despair

Days of enlightening epiphany

Days of terrifying horror

Days of magnificent awe

Days of crippling emptiness

Days of flourishing fulfilment

Days of confusing delerium

These are the days behind my eyes

When their colours show

Do not take it personally

All behind a curtain.... I hope poetry can give you some relief. I will always read your work my friend. Here for a chat. Peace be with you. Max

Poetry certainly does help immensely. Thanks Max ... Life has overwhelmed me and it takes a lot of effort to get up in the morning and face it, which I generally do to 50% capacity (in order to remain detached just enough to survive). 😅
