BEING BLACK

Too bad we can't see the struggle our people went thru

How they made it possible for me and for you

I know you heard how they beat and hung us from trees

Breaking our legs, arms and knees

That didn't stop our ancestors from going underground

Praying and struggling for freedom to be found

Did you know we are strong and powerful breed

We made it without all the things in life you need

The struggle was long and seemed as if not hope

But, our ancestors were determined and didn't say nope

Just imagine, if Harriett Tugman never paved the way

And Rosa Parts wasn't tired and frustrated that day

What if Martine Luther King, Jr. just let it slide

And when racism came all he did was hide

Than GOD he didn't and he had an awesome dream

But in reality what does all this mean

When we disrespect each other, and you are my brother

My sisters disrespect themselves in unbelievable ways

WOW! Now is the time , before its too late, lets change these days
