Poem -

Beside the sea💙

Beside the sea💙

Lovely little children playing on the summer sands

Pretty bikinis and swimming trunks,  buckets and spades in their hands

Batting balls to each other and doing handstands

Paddling in the puddles amongst the slippy, seaweed strands..

Oh how we all adore to be beside the sea

Where our skin is sun-kissed and as salty as can be

Listening to that lull with those scatterings of shingled scree

Whilst wading birds duck and dive catching fishes for their tea..

Wooden white sailing boats with twin masts and mizen

Bobbing up and down betwixt that briney sea slowly floating on the horizon

Where dreams are dreamt and there can be no compromisin’

And old fossilised fishermen forage the fathoms, weather beaten whilst wizen..
