The very choice was placed upon me,
To stand and fight,
Or lay down dead,
Within darkest night,
A decision to make,
The need for it to be right,
I could not fail,
Everything on the line,
A choice between a business,
Or a shelter for life,
The pros and cons,
Twisting like a knife,
I needed an answer i searched inside my soul,
The solution,
Was to me this family whole,
Build our new foundation,
To rest our hearts upon,
To jump in head first,
Taking everything on,
I placed my name upon the papers,
Signed off with the bank,
My life,
Their lives now back on track,
As scary as it was,
There was never a thought ,
Looking back,
The ruins of a fractured family,
Now beyond our backs,
With faith we walk in hand,
To our own marching band,
Living our lives,
Best way we can.

Sometimes Nardine, to be brave and head for change when even the security of uncertainty seems the better option is the hardest but best thing to do, and to have that courage is admirable especially when you carry the extra burden of children. A poem that will be relatable to many. A very thought provoking write Nardine, great job:)

I agree Nardine, having the right intention is never in question when it comes to our children, but whether or not along the way we always make the right decisions or choices is something that will always be put into question. The strength that you found is no surprise, children are our driving force and ultimately what helps us perhaps make the right decisions in life for ourselves. If you love something so much ultimately you will always do right by them. That is what I truly believe:)x

What a lovely thing to say you've brightened my morning:) I wrote a poem about my youngest daughter Blue Eyes a while ago, she is the cutest thing ever and would make the coldest heart melt. Children have such a wonderful innocence and see the world so openly, I think they are amazing and we could all learn a lot from them if we just perhaps listened a little more. Mums are most defintely the teachers of our future so perhaps we too should be given a little more credence. Keep doing a great job Nardine:)x
