BEST FRIEND

BEST FRIEND

Mostly I doubt that you are gone
Wicked humour
Attitude
Style
Linger on
Your smile reflected in my eye
Of this I'm certain, you did not die
Your mortal form
You may have shed
But yours is the shadow
That sits by my bed
Your voice that
Whispers
In the dead of night
Making me laugh
Making me light
Your words still
That spur me on
Support, strength, advice
For a world
You still scorn
And the pen is yours
When in my hand
And we converse
We understand
That
Not all things in this world are seen
Most things hidden, behind
deaths screen
No, my friend
You did not leave
Still there loyal
Holding court
Like a queen
Real as I am
Right by my side
Bold as brass
You do not hide.
