Best friends

There once was two girls 
Who when they met changed each others lives forever the first girl is about 16 she was a very quiet girl kept to herself most of the time she had been hurt time and time again she suffers from depression and anxiety and was ready to give up on everything and this other girl she is about 17 she's quite like the other girl she would keep to herself and had also been hurt time and time again she was also ready to give up on everything but then these two girls met and changed each others lives forever pretty soon they became inseparable any time they can spend together they do they spend weekends together and travel together to school in the mornings anytime they can spend together they do they are best friends and they always will be nothing can separate them they realized as they became friends that they went through the same things that they both struggled with depression and anxiety they also found that the more they leaned on each other the easier things became now one may lean on the other a little more then the other does but that's only because she needs a little more help and she knows that her best friend can to give it to her even when she's going through her own stuff because she knows what it's like to have nobody now the other one does lean on the one who needs a little more help sometimes and she is a hundred percent there for her there's not a moment that they aren't there for each other in fact they're so close that people have actually thought they were dating but they don't see each other in that way they see each other as best friends as sisters and as mother and daughter and they love each other very much as family and if they ever lost each other they would never survive which is why one doesn't know that the other does this but one prays every night that she'll never lose the one person who can help her the one person who has been there through everything for her the one person who means everything to her she's never told her this because she knows that sometimes prayers don't come true and she doesn't want to jinx it because she loves this girl as a daughter and a sister and a best friend very much and she's always wanted to tell the other one this but she's just never been able to find the right words and how do I know this you might ask because I'm her I'm the girl who prays I'm the girl who depends on the other one so much more than she depends on me but I also know that it's okay that even though I'm older I need a little more help age doesn't mean that you don't need less help then those who are younger than you all the time sometimes you can be older and you need more help than those younger than you and that's okay I used to be ashamed of having to need help but I realized once I met my best friend that I don't need to be ashamed because she's not going to judge me she's not going to hurt me she's not going to just stop being my friend for no reason she hurts and I know she does but I do everything I can to help her and I try to now we can't always help each other because we do have our own problems and we're no professionals but that doesn't stop us from trying she's always been there for me and I'm always going to be there for her no matter what happens in life in school in love no matter what we will always be there for each other there will never be a time where we won't be a lot of the times she gets asked why she puts up with me now she puts up with me because she loves me I know this but there are times when even I question why she loves me why she puts up with me but she assured me that she does and that it'll never change she assured me that it doesn't matter why she loves me and it doesn't matter why she puts up with me it matters that she does and I know she's right sometimes I just need a little reminder and she has told me that that is okay that she will remind me as many times as I need her to now don't get me wrong sometimes I question why i love her and put up with her but I do and that's what matters we've both come a long way through fake friends and people all saying they loved us when they really didn't that they care for us when they really didn't so when we found each other we were skeptical at first but now we don't question each other at all she is my best friend and I would do anything for her before I met her I always wondered what a true best friend was like a best friend is someone who is supposed to be there for you no matter what they don't judge you no matter how many opportunities you give them they are there through it all a best friend is someone who knows you like a book they know when you're hurting they know when you're sad they know when you're upset  they know when you're mad but they also know how to make you happy again they do their best to make you happy but then they also remind you that it's okay to be unhappy sometimes as much as you want to be happy all the time you just can't and that's okay I never knew what that was like until I met her now I understand the joys of having a best friend and I don't know but I can only hope that she feels the same a best friend is someone who has your back no matter what a best friend is someone who believes you no matter how much evidence there is against you but most of all a best friend is someone who is there no matter what are there through it all a best friend is someone who knows you like a book they know when you're hurting they know when your sad they know when you're upset they know when you're up they know when you're mad but they also know how to make you happy again they do their best to make you happy but then they also remind you that it's okay to be unhappy sometimes as much as you want to be happy all the time you just can't and that's best friend does and is and i love her for it
