Beware The Self-Centered

Beware The Self-Centered

The selfish ones can be unkind
And vile in what they sow.
They don a mask to dupe the blind,
And while they may appear inclined
To share their love, they fail to show
A heart that is aglow.

They see themselves as solid roots,
Disposed to being kind.
But like a tree with rotting fruits
And full of grody attributes,
Their copious words are unrefined,
Designed to rot the mind.

You would do well to not engage
This narcissistic crowd.
Their thorny thoughts of latent rage
Are deftly aimed to subtly wage
A war of words that rises loud,
Like thunder from a cloud.
