Beware The Selfish

Beware The Selfish

The selfish ones are unrefined
And sly in what they sow.
They don a mask to seem inclined
To always be concerned and kind,
But in reality they'll show
A lantern lacking glow.

They see themselves as solid roots
But really are unkind.
They're like a tree with rotting fruits,
Diseased with grody attributes;
Their copious words are ill-defined,
Designed to rot the mind.

You would do well to not engage
This narcissistic crowd.
Their thorny thoughts of latent rage
Are deftly aimed to subtly wage
A war of words that rises loud,
Like thunder from a cloud.
