Beyond The Curtains
The whole scene awaits
As normal as yesterday
The houses still stand
We are luckier here
The postman walks by
With his great sack of words
Small kids own the street
The sun even shines
It all looks serene
Unthreatening and safe
I once used to live
In just such a place
