~ BEYOND THE VEIL ~
Am I simply to be, the pawn of all pawns
To take the small steps, and to never truly see
The 64 squares, the separation of you and me
The game of all games, played out on front lawns
The ever, refurbished bird, that swan of all swans
Will I never anticipate the glitches, like those in De ja Vu
Those profound moments, that let you know there is more
The pause in the flow, that glimpse of the eternal shore
Where the matrix, first formed, altered your point of view
Let you know you're alive, let you breathe altered truth
When will complications unfurl, become vernal acquiescence
To the idea that we were created, the we are an experiment
Watched over by strange beings, that find our contentment
Hard to control, for unexpected, human incandescence
That hard light, given to humanity in its evolutionary adolescence
Shall we take a look, beyond the veil of all existence
Find there, a reason or a treason, for believing in a creator
Take a serious sojourn, into our mind's first fabricator
Where truth, yet unborn, was simply the path of least resistance
Can we honestly say, that life is not born, of experimental persistence
From some other place, from some other timely folktale
Where "resistance is futile" , and love, a fleeting accomplishment
With procreation, a sterile, and unhappy astonishment
A completely incomprehensible, and unworthy blackmail
Where disappointment is found, with just a glimpse, beyond the veil....

Well I must say this is a nourishing read for the mind that likes to ponder.
"Resistance is futile"
I love that you used this line from the borg :) for at the end of the day whatever the truth is, we inevitably shall learn of it and won't be able to turn away or make out it is something else. It will be what it will be. Regardless of what we think we know or seek to find. Society would like to keep us in an airtight container. A cosy prison of distraction, that inevitably leaves a person feeling empty as if missing something. Because we are not living a full life.
As always, you showcase your artistic talents with your deep seeded thinking. That manifests beautiful, thought provoking poetry
