Poem -

~Beyond the veil of democracy~. ( fight for the rights of all women everywhere)

~Beyond the veil of democracy~.

Trapped confined
behind the veil

Silent eyes view the world
But so out of reach to touch

Beyond permission's
No learning, or choosing
Their own position

Owned by the ground's
Of marriage
before that of marriage

assigned after birth
To a partner by ritual
Unrighteousness
but never a partnership
Nor a status
beyond the cloak
Of darkness

Owned and mistreated
Beaten bruised and used
For lesser muse

Like a mangy animal
Covered in flea's
Silenced inside their aching pleas'

No one truly understanding
From what they have seen
Where they have been

Filthy treatment not love so clean
No ownership to their right's
Nor dream's

And yet you criticize
In our land supposedly free

Without a thought behind
Her possibilities

A heart and mind her soul
The role in which she escaped
The battle fought
Tears and fears being raped

A land supposedly free
Full of contempt for thee

A mother a daughter
Life in which you don't see
The scar's hidden away
Behind the veil of silence
Mind once full of innocence
Know creeping with violence

~ put and end to her aching
A future in the making
Creative and beautiful
As any women as equal

In this land supposedly free

Break the silence
Free her soul from violence
Beneath the veil of choice

Give love a face to a violent race
Judge not her soul
Her sheltered place
Beneath the veil of darkness

Let light shine within her time
Born like you and me
To become someone more
Than the veil in which
You blinding see

~Her unknown possibilities
Of who she's ment to be

A life of joy and love
Without contempt from thee

Unmasked in choice
Beyond the veil of democracy

No more blaming or shaming
The beautiful woman within she

~Silence the violence

( Let her soul be free
In our land of opportunity )

~Our home supposedly free

To create and live
How she wishes to be.

Absolutely true, everyone has the right to live freely from religious, cultural taboos.Powerfully penned,i liked everything in it but this one spoke a lot to me.

"A heart and mind her soul
The role in which she escaped
The battle fought
Tears and fears being raped"

Break the silence
Free her soul from violence
Beneath the veil of choice

Give love a face to a violent race
Judge not her soul
Her sheltered place
Beneath the veil of darkness

Let light shine within her time
Born like you and me
To become someone more
Than the veil in which
You blinding see"
