BILLIE'S LAST FEW WEEKS

Only seventy cents in her account when she died
An interesting fact that will leave many horrified
A liver disease in 1959 got her mind thinking
Better without alcohol and tried to stop drinking

However it wasn't long before she soon relapsed
Rushed to hospital as her liver quickly collapsed
Heroin was also found in her bedroom too
Couldn't cope with it all what could she do ?

Handcuffs were placed on her in a hospital bed
Last rites were performed she'd soon be dead
Two days later at aged forty four the news broke
Billie Holiday is dead a hospital official spoke

These are the last few weeks of a talented singer
Whose musical prowess will continue to linger
Billie your legacy should never once be forgotten
How sad your last weeks were so awfully rotten
