Billing the Fit

Ample offers, almost handed the gigs
Incapable of attending auditions
Finally overlooking the attention pigs
And noticing the honorable mentions

But you're forever on late run
Wrist keeping a time all its own
Always ending before ever begun
Find the trigger only after shot's blown

Keep trying to step forward motion
But further back's all you will fall
Like some retoric series of action
Never the one who makes the cast call

Maybe you'll live up to measures
Perhaps something you're not meant to meet
Then looking back on all your failed ventures
Just wish you'd known better than to compete
